The Intel S5000 series has a BMC with a KCS interface, so the existing IPMI driver in the 2.6.20 kernel.org base should work fine.
As to the fan controls, the FRUSDR from the factory should have been applied, which is what governs the fan speed. The FRUSDR varies by chassis, since the number of fans and cooling characteristics vary for both chassis and baseboard. The SDRs will show the fan sensors and the FRUSDR version. If there is a problem with one of the fans, it should also be logged in the SEL. You can use either ipmitool.sf.net or ipmiutil.sf.net to show the SDRs/sensors and read the SEL. I'm not sure here, I don't know what that board has. Too many boards have IPMI for anyone to keep track of. -corey Alejandro Mery wrote: > My need is simply (?) i2c-ipmi, to get ipmisensors working and > stop the turbine is making my table shake ,-).
