Corey,

Attached is the old Intel KCS code that shows some driver differences
for IPMI 0.9 (see isIpmiOldVersion).  This code was GPL'd as part of the
Intel IMB driver, so it is clean.
You may not need this, but for future reference, anyway.

I actually have no idea how hard that would be, but I'd be willing to 
accept patches :).  Glad I could help with this.
