The default font family for Japanese is set to IPA Mona by /etc/java-6-openjdk/fontconfig.bfc and /etc/java-6-openjdk/fontconfig.properties.src. This should be replaced to the Sazanami font family or VLGothic because IPA Mona is not provided by a debian package and is not DPSG-free. I suggest the file ./debian/patches/fontconfig-arphic-uming.diff needs update to solve this problem.
