I get the same behavior on my Ubuntu 9.10 machine with x86, Open JDK and Sun Java installed.

Latter on I tried few other examples, all failed. This is the same with Firefox 3.0.1 and Konqueror. Starting from command line javaws brings certificate windows. I have no clue what to do with this. I was able to open one sample application when starting javaws -nosecurity -about Two of the samples opened jDiskReport and jPathReport. Other trow an exception.
