+++ Debian Bug Tracking System [2014-06-25 13:15 +0000]: It seems that this issue is to do with the patch patches/aarch64-save_sp_regs.patch. Dissassembly (by Ed nevill) at the point of the segv shows the pattern that this patch is intended to fix. The patch is modified from the upstream form (presumably because it was backported?).
The ubuntu version of openjdk-7 seems to work fine, so I will compare these and see if there is anything obvious. We should also check that patches/arch64-flush_icache_stub.patch is applied correctly, in case similar issues apply.
