Could you please enlighten us on *why* this is the proper solution?
At the moment, the only thing I see is some JNI-related packages being
broken by this change -- and adding stuff to the compiler's search path
this way still seems somewhat like a hack/workaround to me that only
complicates things. What am I missing?
