I have been able to reproduce this on amd64 and i386 using the zero package. I tried to reproduce it on a powerpc vm but as I was unable to boot anything other than a single-core vm, which was way too slow to do any testing - just the ubuntu install took way too long, there would be no way I would be able to rebuild openjdk and be testing fixes from there.
Since the -zero package is mostly unused and there's no confirmation of the bug in either armhf or powerpc I'm setting it as low priority. If and when we can confirm that those other arches are affected this can be reviewed. I will keep an eye out an see if any other similar reports come in. ** Changed in: openjdk-7 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of OpenJDK, which is subscribed to openjdk-7 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1777933 Title: openjdk-7 7u181-2.6.14-0ubuntu0.1 zerovm causes eclipse to crash Status in openjdk-7 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: With the proposed openjdk-7 7u181-2.6.14-0ubuntu0.1 update, eclipse crashes when starting up using the zero vm, as invoked by: eclipse -vm /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk- amd64/jre/lib/amd64/zero/libjvm.so after the 'choose a workspace directory' dialog is answered. This reliably occurs on amd64 and i386. I have not reproduced this on powerpc or armhf due to lack of access to those platforms, where zero is the default jvm. Attached is the crash dump java generated.
