Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
Unfortunately this is not a valid bug report. OpenJDK project has removed tools.jar - and some others - since OpenJDK 9. Any projects that relied on the removed jar files need to comply to the changes in order to work with OpenJDK 9 and later. More information on the changes is available on JEP 220: http://openjdk.java.net/jeps/220#Removed:-rt-jar-and-tools-jar I'm setting this as Invalid since it is not a bug on OpenJDK (much less openjdk-8). ** Changed in: openjdk-8 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of OpenJDK, which is subscribed to openjdk-8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1838111 Title: jdk packages later than 8 are missing tools.jar Status in openjdk-8 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Apparently, jdk packages later than 8 no longer include tools.jar which is required to build for Android. https://techstarspace.wordpress.com/2019/02/21/make-error-could-not- find-jdk-tools-jar/ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-8/+bug/1838111/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~openjdk Post to : openjdk@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~openjdk More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
