This is a follow-up to the "heads-up" [0] email I sent before the New Year.

As has been previously announced [1][2], Oracle will no longer contribute to the JDK 8 Updates Project after the January 2019 quarterly CPU release of JDK 8u202. Since JavaFX for JDK 8 is delivered as a part of the JDK, Oracle will also no longer contribute to the OpenJFX 8u-dev code line (8u-dev/rt repo) after JDK 8u202 ships.

This means that Oracle is stepping down as the maintainer of the openjfx/8u-dev code line after January. As with the JDK 8 Updates Project, a suitable party might step forward to maintain the 8u-dev code line in the OpenJFX Project once the final Oracle-led JDK 8 Update release has been published. If such a party is nominated, we will discuss how to best enable such a transition on this Project's mailing list.
