Hi list, I've just added a comment to ticket 2593 which made a change that keeps the old tile image until the new one is in for singleTile layers by default.
I've tried to explain why this is not wanted for all situations, e.g. having a WMS singleTile layer on top of a tiled base layer and zooming in, since this yields strange visual effects, even with a transitionEffect configured. Can anybody who was actively involved in that ticket please comment on whether or not it makes sense to actually make this configurable? http://trac.openlayers.org/ticket/2593 TIA.
