I read http://ol-performance.appspot.com with a lot of interest, especially the client side grouping. However, it occurs to me that when you open a "Layer" object in OL, the object has both client side config options (eg displayinLayerSwitcher) and server side (URL). You cant exactly group client side if the layers have different client-side config options. Would it be possible to have OL do the grouping behind the scenes?
