Hi,
I'm not sure if you are asking the question on the right list, but here
goes:
No idea about Geomedia, but your server should suport caching, for
example use geowebcache for geoserver, or Tilecache for OSM maps using
mapnik.
I loading a map as tiles or as single doesn't tell the server to cache
these images. Configuring the server to do so does
Good luck

I am fairly new to open layers just have one experimental site using a WMS
service created using Geomedia. I have created a site that has many layers
and I have always set each layer to singleTile: true. I noticed that there
has always been a speed issue with my layers loading, sometimes when I
reload only half of them show up othertimes none at all but most times they
all show up after about 20-30 seconds. I tried to use caching which I have
enabled in Geomedia's Server Configuration Utility and I changed everything
to singleTile: false. However when I reload the site now instead of loading
30-40 things it is loading 900+ objects which are always being recreated in
my cache folder. Obviously I am doing something wrong and just seeking
advice on either how to cache this properly or speed up my site in general,
thanks!
