Chrome is continuing to be a major pain with local file access. If you try to get openlayer to open a local kml file, you get error...
"XMLHttpRequest cannot load file:///H:/eclipse/PBE/WebContent/data/TWT/TWT.kml. Cross origin requests are only supported for HTTP." for example. I have complained at http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=40787 but google have said they wont fix. I got around in Chrome's similar refusal to load local json files with script tag insertion and wrapping the json in a function call.
