thanks, stephane - sometimes people are blind ;(
after that little fix (first and last node must have the same ID, coords are
not enough) i had the same problem but after removing the tags-stuff, i got
a "reaction". a black area - better than nothing ;)

format: new OpenLayers.Format.OSM(), // back to the roots

<path id="OpenLayers.Geometry.Polygon_1143"
d=" M 420.9233885880094,518.6427256707102
407.2406368770171,511.60667023807764
463.38838642206974,231.0337892640382 579.2257422320545,203.90659838728607
591.156206944026,205.8546407148242 420.9233885880094,518.6427256707102 z"
fill-rule="evenodd" fill="#000000" fill-opacity="1" stroke="#ffcc00"
stroke-opacity="0.5"
stroke-width="10" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round"
cursor="help"/>

but i think, i'll get it.

regards
walter
