Jørgen you are right, the test was running from local file system. Now I
have installed Apache web server. The test is now running on IE8 without
problems also FF, but no changes for Opera.
I have looked into the DOM/HTML for one route:
example from FF firebug (without style)

The OpenLayers.Layer.GML_42_vroot has content from gpx file. In IE8
it’s nearly the same.
But in Opera has OpenLayers.Layer.GML_42_vroot no content. In my opinion the
gpx file was not loaded.
