You cannot reuse layers across maps. You will need to create a set of
new layers for each map:
map1.addLayers(map1_layer1, ...)
map2.addLayers(map2_layer1, ...)

Iam trying to create 2 map objects (ex: var map1,map2) in the same page
and add same set of layers to both the map objects, but the layers seem
to be getting added to only the newer map object and not the previous one.

i have no clue why this doesnt work.
