hi... I posted 2 threads into the goeserver forum (below)regarding displaying my own topographic maps together with google maps.
I can display my own base layer in EPSG:4326 without a problem., but one thing is bugging me. The coordinates from my baselayer in EPSG:4326 look like this... bbox=976647.122,6686234.936,1369814.506,6934459.818 I thought wgs84 was in deegrees, so why are these in meters? However, my vector layer which is also in wgs84 has this bbox bbox=-25.386,0.0,11.059,52.77 ????? Also I would like to display my base layers with google maps. How can I do this? As far as I know, google maps in EPSG:900913 can´t be transformed. That means I would have to transform my base layer from EPSG:4326 into EPSG:900913. Thanks for any help, Robert OLD THREADS hi, I'll answer the question mayself.....I changed projection: epsg900913 to projection: epsg4326 and it was displayed ok. Does this mean that I can´t display my own epsg: base maps together with google maps? thanks, Robert ________________________________ Von: Robert Buckley <[email protected]> An: [email protected] Gesendet: Donnerstag, den 3. Hi, I created an image pyramid which was in EPSG:4326 ie wgs84 using gdal_retile When I loaded it into geoserver it was accepted and displayed without a problem. however, the coordinates are not in lat/lon they are..(see bbox) geoserver/wms?service=WMS &version=1.1.0 &request=GetMap &layers=zgb:tk50 &styles= &bbox=976647.122,6686234.936,1369814.506,6934459.818 &width=522&height=330 &srs=EPSG:4326 &format=application/openlayers Geoserver reports the native coords as EPSG:4326 but this can´t be correct, can it? When I look at the original Geotiff on my desktop it is displayed in lat/lon. This is obviously a missunderstanding on my part, but what is going on? thanks for the tips, Robert
