Hi there, I am new to OpenLayers, and with the help of online resources have been creating a map. I have a couple of (possibly very clueless) questions.
1) How can I tell what version of OL I am using? I expected, but did not find this info at the top of "OpenLayers.js" (I am using a locally saved version of the "OpenLayers.js" file). 2) In an attempt to create a vector outline around a portion of my map, I copied code from this example: http://dev.openlayers.org/releases/OpenLayers-2.10/examples/behavior-fixed-http-gml.html Everything works well, but when I save a copy of the gml data (polygon.xml) locally, and change the referenced URL accordingly, I get nothing. I am sure I am missing some very fundamental concept. Interestingly, the aforementioned, locally referenced file works well when I upload it to a web server. I am missing something that is so fundamental that it is left unstated. PS. my map is here: http://www.ctaylorart.net/ol/temp02.html What I really want to do is to use an SVG file as my base layer, but so far I have not found an example that I am able to follow.
