Hi!
I'm interesting in this issue too. How can I count the points number from
a layer? I tried something with PostGIS and the NumPoints() function but
the resulted field was empty. Is there an other way to achieve this,
trough GeoServer for example?

It really depends on the browser and the number of vertices that the
features have (if line or polygon). For points, I'd say <200 on IE6, IE7
and IE8, and <5000 on other browsers, maybe more or less depending on
your definition of "unworkable". It also depends on the complexity of
the styles you use.

Simple question what is the maximum recommended number of web features
