Yes, it is possible.

You can style your vector features using external sld files. 

You have to request the sld file, parse it and add the styleMap to the
vector layer.

Hi 

As far I know, there are layers published by geoserver always with default
SLD style. If I add WMS layer to the map it is styled by default SLD, but if
I add WFS layer it is styled by default orange style. Is it possible to load
layers default SLD style from geoserver if using WFS and assign it to the
OpenLayers WFS vector layer?
