So if you really want to dive into this, you have to identify what
makes your page sluggish. This starts with the JavaScript code outside
OpenLayers, and ends in the way you use OpenLayers. For the latter,
this list can help, but you have to explain more about what you do
with OpenLayers. Things like:

What kinds of layers do you use?
How many layers do you use?
How are these layers configured (buffer)?

And first of all:

What exactly is sluggish and how?
