I haven't tried anything yet, didn't even know the thing to search for, so I
should look at addlayer ??

I have this interface:
http://pwultra5.ci.stpaul.mn.us/cp_tiles/OpenLayers/OL.AVL.11.html

and want to add in some trails, by GPS ID, based on a beginning (time_idx1) and
ending (time_idx2) parameters, like so:

http://gis.ci.stpaul.mn.us/datasets/DB/SAINT_PAUL/PUBLIC_WORKS/AVL/STREETS/trails_segments_public.map?layers=&format=image%2Fpng&transparent=true&mode=map&map_imagetype=png&_olSalt=0.6070112313323628&mapext=525143.38888889+125465.87962963+619240.61111111+183394.12037037&imgext=525143.38888889+125465.87962963+619240.61111111+183394.12037037&map_size=1626+1001&imgx=813&imgy=500.5&imgxy=1626+1001&veh_id=2042&time_idx1=4/10/2012%206:00:00&time_idx2=4/10/2012%2015:35:00

(NOTE: see the last three parameters of the link . . .)

The GPS ID chooser and Time Indexes FORM will be added to the OpenLayers map.

So, what it sounds like you suggest, is I build the additional "var mslayer?? =
. . ." chunks, and then just use the addlayer function to add them to the
switcher and the display? am I following this correctly? Know of any examples
showing this?

Thanks

bobb

When you call map.addLayer(layer) it should automagically add the layer
to the LayerSwitcher. Are you not seeing this behavior? Are you calling
addLayer() and the new layer is not appearing in the LayerSwitcher ?
