Or you could use some CSS for the same thing. if you know the ID of
the HTML element, it's pretty easy

display: none !important;
}
or if you want to follow the name path you could
input[name="yourLayerNameHere"] {
display: none !important;
}
You might want to test the !important switch if it's really necessary.
no need for javascript IMO,
