Sorry, I can't easily reproduce it because I don't have access to the system where this happened. The customer is running my Debian packages which already has a longer history: https://code.stroeder.com/AE-DIR/debian-openldap-ms/src/branch/master/debian/changelog There could also have been an issue when upgrading from 2.4.59 to 2.5.x which did not have compat fixes for 2.4 databases yet. At the time when I received the report the customer was running 2.6.0 but without back-port patch for ITS#9753.
