For my db, today, "time slapindex" took 1 hour 54 minutes adding "sub" indexing to the attribute "givenName" on a server.

"time slapindex -q" took 4 minutes adding "sub" indexing to the attribute "givenName" on an identical server.

Just to give an example of the difference when it is used. ;)
