Thread 6 hit the assertion while trying to close the connection, and thread 5 was already trying to close the connection. And Thread 5 was waiting for thread 2 to wake up and give up the connection handle. Seems like a bug in connection.c, aggravated by the presence of persistent searches on the connection.
