Yes! It's working now in 2.4.x as expected, via the new userCertificate stub 
data provided by example.  FWIW, it appears to be working fine with the 
PostgreSQL example files as well.

Unfortunately, it was never "back" ported to 2.3.  We're currently using 2.3.43 
as part of RHEL-5.  Any chance it could get back-ported into the 2.3 branch?
