It seems that the repositories served over http and git protocol (urls as advertised on http://www.openldap.org/devel/gitweb.cgi?p=openldap-etc.git;a=summary) differ. While containing roughly the same history, there are a few commits (at least) at the beginning that are unwound differently in each one. The list of differences between the two repos might be larger, however I have no tool at hand that could help me find them all.
