A db_archive with the appropriate flags can be used to delete those
(unless you need them to recover the ldap directory with...). So, it
depends...
Note that if you are using BDB 4.2.52, you'll need the transactions patch
distributed with the latest OL 2.2/2.3 releases. If you are using BDB
4.3.28, this is not necessary.
