I'm don't know what "epoll" is but i can see the process waiting for some "poll" making "strace ldapsearch -x memberUid=testnix"
My database has around 1150 entries. The command "time ldapsearch -x memberUid=testnix" (same Indexes same config) reports for OL 2.3.27 real 0m10.063s user 0m0.004s sys 0m0.000s for OL 2.2.30 real 0m0.063s user 0m0.004s sys 0m0.000s > > BTW my problem: > > Samba panics. > > What version of samba? What architecture? Samba version 3.0.21a on Debian Sarge kernel 2.6.14.3 SMP ix86 AthlonMP Database BDB 4.3 on ext3 in lvm-volume. The "panic" issue disappears after a reboot ?? dont know why, i re-linked and restartet samba, nscd and OL. But the performance was bad. It's much better with 2.2.30 Thanks for help Andreas Grabner PS: If there is something I can help to test just ask. I have to solve some issues past 16:00 today (GMT+1).
