I've re-enabled my SQL test setup, and I cannot confirm your issue. HEAD and re23 code works just fine even under valgrind, no issue is reported even when the concurrency level is increased and the runs are prolonged (apart from the inevitable memory leaks in ODBC...). So it might be something in your setup. I'm using mysql 4.1.12 and unixODBC 2.2.11 from CentOS's stock packages for amd64.
