See the admin guide. In OpenLDAP you add schema by modifying a schema below cn=schema,cn=config, and you set 'olcAttributeTypes' rather than 'attributeTypes'. OTOH you can *read* the full schema controlling an entry from the DN named by that entry's subschemaSubentry attribute. In OpenLDAP, that defaults to cn=subschema, not cn=schema. -- Hallvard
