Ok tried installing a new ubuntu install and still no luck. I had no media at all until I installed ubuntu-restricted-extras and kubuntu- restricted-extras, then i was back where I was at before. I have a perfectly working preview, but when I go live nothing, other than sound. With the preview working perfectly I'm having a hard time figuring out how it can be something with codecs.
