Hi, I just tried these steps with the latest build http://openlp.org/files/latest.dmg (build 1636) but could not reproduce the mentioned erroneous behaviour.
I added a song directly to the Live tab (with right mouse-click on the song and "Live"), the dropdown appears and after selecting "blank" or "Desktop" a blank screen or the desktop was shown and the menu item was selected. After a click on the same item the song was shown again. The default "on/off" behaviour of these buttons. The same happened for a song within the service list and an image. Can you try it with the latest build or maybe we can organize a screensharing session? When the Timed Slides buttons appear in the Live toolbar, a '>>' appears on top of the Blank Screen button, like what would be expected if there wasn't enough room in the toolbar for all the icons. When no item is loaded in the Live panel, the blank screen button behaves normally and all three options are selectable via the down arrow. When any item is loaded into the Live panel however, the down arrow button stops working, and only the blank screen button itself works. The problem occurs even if the Timed Slides buttons aren't available.
