Blank window appears for a while after fresh install

Bug description:
Ubuntu 11.10, Arch Linux on a fresh install build 1775, I select the
option to download public domain english songs, and the KJV. When
OpenLP starts up a blank window appears for a while, then the window
for upgrading the bible comes up. It appears that its taking a while
for OpenLP to decide that the bibles need to be upgraded.
