Adding/Creating tests seems rather complicated. I am not really familiar with Python, so my venture into the code was limited to minor code changes. If someone wants to take the burden of completing the necessary tests, please feel free.

This means they do not know how to resume "Live" if they press the blank button. I think it would be a good idea to add "Live" button, which always unblanks the display. Additionally the "Toggle" functionality could be disabled/removed from the Blank buttons.
