Installing OpenMeetings on Windows 2008 R2 x64 for Windows Users...
Before installation => Setup Environment Variables:
Go to => My Computer properties => Advance System Settings => Advance Tab
=> Environment Variable button.
JAVA_HOME = C:\JAVA\jdk1.6.0_27
RED5_HOME=C:\Red5
Path = (include C:\JAVA\jdk1.6.0_27\bin location)
Install Prequisites:
1.) Install JAVA SDK v6 Update 27 (x32)
1a.) Install to root of C:\ for ease of support
1b.) After Java install, should look like C:\JAVA\jdk1.6.0_27
1b.) After Java install, should look like C:\JAVA\jre6
2.) Install GhostScript v9.04
3.) Install Image Magick
4.) Install FFMPEG
4a.) After FFMPEG, should look like C:\FFMPEG
5.) SoX install not necessary. Optional
6.) Install OpenOffice v3.3 (x32)
6a.) After install, go through reg routine
6b.) At command prompt and in the OpenOffice directory location, run the
command:
soffice.exe -headless -nologo -norestore
-accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager
6c.) Then type in the following command to verify: netstat -anp tcp
7.) Install XAMPP v1.7.4 V6 (x32) or higher to root of C:\
8.) Reboot Server
9.) With Internet Explorer, browse to http://localhost
9a.) you should get the XAMPP webpage
9b.) click on phpMyAdmin on the left and create a new database
called "openmeetings" with collation = UT8_general_ci (as per wiki document)
10.)Create a folder called RED5
11.) download OpenMeetings v1.8.1 R4260 and extract all into C:\RED5
12.) Do Step#4 of Install OpenMeetings above and save the configuration file
13.) Reboot server one more time
14.) with your browser, go/browse to:
http://localhost:5080/openmeetings/install and follow the instructions
