I have encountered something like that in the past. It is actually an Issue with Red5 not Openmeetings, but they also fixed it. After a period of inactivity the client is also kicked.
For example: Our demo service produces around 20.000 user session per month, sometimes it happens that some disconnect method in the application server is not thrown, so an orphan stays in the connection line for several minutes ( I can't exactly say how long, rarly it might take also hours, but I am really not sure sometimes if a user just has forgotten to close the browser or did actually left). However if I visit the server the next day those "orphans" are also gone. So I would not mind about that, I think there is already an internal scheduler that does automatically kick those orphans regularly.
