There is also calligraconverter ( https://projects.kde.org/projects/calligra/repository/revisions/master/show/tools/converter ) but I guess a dependency on Calligra would also be a problem for you. It'd save a lot of time, though, and in fact support for .docx, .xlsx, etc (Ofice 2007 formats) is better in Calligra than in OOo/LO.
