Hello folks, I saw that Pankaj was interested if my bandwidth estimates were valid. No, they were not. Well, yes, they were more or less true for each of n clients which accepts (n-1) streams from server. But server itself sends n*(n-1) streams and requires more bandwidth.
Estimating one stream (270x280 pixels, 30 fps) in 256 kbit, we get 512 kbit bandwidth for two external participants for one client. The server would post six times 256 kbit, or ~1,5 mbit. The stream for a conference room with resolution (640x480 pixels) would require 4 times more, or 1 mbit. Hosting 5 participants of this room would require 20 mbit channel. Please let me know if you see a mistake in my calculations.
