I've had a few problems myself with different versions of openmeetings when clicking the 'install' button. Checking the red5 debug info it always turned out to have something to do with me :)
Few things that might help you. 1. Changed from localhost to serverip on the connection string for mysql on hibernate.cfg.xml. (didn't work 'till I put it back to localhost). Might have to do with point 2,3 though. 2. Firewall, firewall, firewall (nasty little thing called iptabes on linux) at least when you install stuff :) 3. Even nastier thing called SELINUX. I've disabled it myself. It got even worse when doing moodle integration ... 4. Database UTF8 and user/password with rights.
