Hello Ed, there are several ways to achieve that.
There is a SOAP API to build a Single Sign On. You could for example build a simple doorway pages (expecting that the auth data is written somewhere in the header of website) and then login the user by using the SOAP API and a ASP/PHP or eventual JSP website.
