btw, i couldn't find lame in debian... don't know what openmeetings uses instead for audio (or what feature i'm missing - i didn't compile it). maybe there is a package that was installed in the debian tutorial that meets that dependency?
also, you'll have to compile swftools if you're on debian stable (or i did) - you can use apt pinning or whatever to get the job done through apt, but i like keeping life simple and if my package manager isn't going to manage stuff for me, i might as well just compile it. you'll also notice that there's instructions to change an oo Setup file in the debian instructions. that instruction is not in the cent doc. two comments here; 1. i don't know if this is still required but i had already done it when i started reading the centos doc, 2. the file doesn't seem to be in the same location as it was listed in the debian doc. i found it here: /usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.2/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.xcu On Mon, Jun 13, 2011 at 07:58, shawn wilson <[email protected]> wrote: > so, as i noted, i followed the debian instructions (which they noted > were pretty old). however, i switched over to the cent instructions at > some point near the end of the debian instructions. > > what i'd recommend is to try to follow the centos instructions from > start to end. use apt-cache search to find the equivalent debian > package name. per your question to my issue, i just had to do a simple > 'service mysql restart', mysql -p (login), 'drop database > openmeetings; exit;' start openmeetings again (i actually removed > openmeetings and unzipped it again since the only thing i changed was > the hibernate.cfg.xml and it seemed to have a log of me starting the > install and failing somewhere). > > my only comment to the documentation is, (i don't know if it matters) > but, i'd put the: > default-character-set=utf8 > character-set-server=utf8 > > after [mysqld] > > hth > > On Mon, Jun 13, 2011 at 07:13, manu balraj singh <[email protected]> wrote: >> Hello wilson, >> did you use xampp for the same? if you did not , then please give me the >> steps you used to configure my sql in dsetail. i also am facing the same >> problem and can not get things working. >> >> -- >> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups >> "OpenMeetings User" group. >> To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. >> To unsubscribe from this group, send email to >> [email protected]. >> For more options, visit this group at >> http://groups.google.com/group/openmeetings-user?hl=en. >> > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "OpenMeetings User" group.
