You could either use Firebug to see if there is an issue with the URL or edit the view.php to run the debug version of OpenMeetings (by commenting out the line http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/source/browse/trunk/plugins/moodle_plugin/view.php#175)
You should see something like "media timout" in the client side debugger. I think the demo platform on moodle.openmeetings.de is also Moodle 2.1.x.
