Mukesh,

Have you configured your OpenMeetings mail server settings with an valid and
working SMTP server and an account for that SMTP server?

Check your Administration "Configuration" settings for the following;

system_email_addr: This should be an existing email address of yours that
people can respond to, should they have questions about the emails that
OpenMeetings sends.

smtp_server: this must be set to a SMTP (email sending) server that you can
send emails via. If you have an email account, then in MS Outlook or other
email client, this is the SMTP server settings that you would have entered in
your email client.

smtp_port: Most SMTP servers use port 25.
mail.smtp.starttls.enable: Some SMTP servers use TLS as a security protocol.

email_username & email_userpass: Most SMTP servers require authentication to
send emails, that is a UserID and Password, otherwise any SPAMMER could use the
SMTP server to send spam.

And to test, when you create an account, do they receive an email notification
(assuming that your configuration has "sendEmailAtRegister" set to "1") ?

Thanks,

George Kirkham

Thanks George Kirkham for your reply

I tried both solutions but they didn't work for me. How can I know which
om version I am using. I am using OM by svn repository rev ver: 1339494.

Mukesh,

What version of OpenMeetings are you using?

In version 1.9 I found that this was not working, but in version 2.0 it is now
working.

There are two ways to invite people by email;

1) Enter a conference room and select "Actions" from the menu, then select
"Send invitation Ctrl_4". In the dialog box that is opened, enter your email
address, e.g. [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>, and set
any other information, then click "Send".

2) In the Calendar, when you create an "Event", you can add "Attendees"
from both OpenMeetings accounts, and from External people (select "Add
external" icon). Note: Invitations are send when you select "Save", so I tend
not to add people until I have all my presentations in the Event's meeting
room, and it is an appropriate time to email them their invitations.

Please let me know if this answers your question.

Thanks,

George Kirkham

Hello everyone,

I have one question, is it possible to send an email invitation
of meetings to external user mail id's like Gmail, Yahoo, windows live?
If yes, please provide me the steps required
