Thunderbird doesn't have a plain text formatting button / option per say but you can configure domains who dummy spit at html. (Let's hope she works).
As for other users having their mail blocked - URIBL_BLACK - looks like a blacklist. You should check your IP's against blacklists. I use Mxtoolbox.com to monitor (for free) to see if my server get's marked on any anti-spam lists. It shouldn't have because I'm not using it for marketing purposes yet, and if people throw down their business card at the tradeshow, what do they expect us to do? :P Eugen has summized what the most likely problem is. I'm running Oracle JDK 1.7 - guilty as charged. Switching over to 1.6 now. Hopefully this should fix it. I did RTFM in the first place, but I though the documentation was a little old so disregarded. I'll update the list with confirmation of my issues being resolved shortly. So only Sun/Oracle JDK 1.6 works? I wonder how much faster it would run with gcj... I'll leave it to someone else to be adventourous.
