Dear Modelicans and OpenModelicans,
we are proud to announce the release of SimForge, an open source GUI for
the editing and the simulation of Modelica models, as well as of
IEC61131-3 industrial controllers.
The tool, developed in Java, is based on the OpenModelica compiler (OMC)
and on the jEdit text editor. It provides both text-mode editing of
Modelica code with on-the-fly syntax highlighting, as well as
drag-'n-drop editing of diagrams, with Modelica annotations support.
Modelica 2.2 is currently supported; Modelica 3.0 compliance will be
guaranteed as soon as the OMC provides it. The program is licensed under
GPL.

Nnever mind if the browser warns you about security certificates, that
is due to dynamic aliasing of host names, just tell your browser to
accept the certificate.
The current status of the tool is still far from being complete and
competitive with commercial solutions, but it's already usable, and will
also improve as the OMC compiler gets better.
We encourage you to download it and try it. If you encounter any
problem, or if you'd like to see some extra feature, please file a
ticket using the trac system.
