Please also note we have to differentiate about whom we're talking. Skillful people, who are familiar with OE and understand the risk of building against current OE head, can certainly build against OE head. However, the average 'current openmoko user' (== developer) who wants to use the ease of MokoMakefile rather than typing the commands by hand, should get _exactly_ the same software that we build on our buildhost and which eventually will become > and it would be really helpful if there was an option in MokoMakefile > to pinpoint down to a certain version -- while retaining the option to > track .dev. Would that be possible? Actually, from my point of view, the default behaviour should definitely give the same results as our buildhost. If somebody wants to venture in the more experimental world of using OE head (not because of OE, but because of the mismatch of our recipies), he can enable this, knowing what he's doing. Our current OE snapshot version is indicated in the Wiki 'building openmoko from scratch'. However, I agree, some more automatized way of obtaining this was nice. Maybe mickey can put a file on something like people.openmoko.org/mickey/oe_snapshot.txt which contains the revision number. Thus URL could then be automatically fetched by scripts such as MokoMAkefile. -- - Harald Welte <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://openmoko.org/ ============================================================================ Software for the world's first truly open Free Software mobile phone
