Hi Henrik!

I had huge issues with busybox too, taking up to 900mb ram on my 3000+ amd
with 1gb ram, making the computer swap like mad. To complete the full build
from scratch takes about 7.5h on my machine.

Hello list

I know it's not the official way of doing things, but i'm just getting
started with openmoko development and I'm trying to use mokomakefile to
get a quick-start..

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04, workstation is a P4D 2.8GHz, with 1GB ram and loads
of hd-space.

I follow this:
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Getting_OpenMoko_working_on_host_with_Xoo
guide and all is well up to th point where I should build the
openmoko-devel-image.

after 30 - 40 minutes of compiling different packages, my workstation
almost stops responding.. the load is between 16.00 and 20.00, and I have
a process (ccl) that consumes 45% of my ram.

it's always the compile of busybox that triggers this.. all other compiles
works fine.

is this the way it's supposed to work? should I just let it churn away at
it?

apx. how long will a full compile of the openmoko-devel-image take on my
hardware?

Best regards
