First, im not in any way a authority on this.
But i would say classic IPC is everything but d-bus.
But event signalling and other informational status messages are best on
d-bus.
Your project sounds like a good place for d-bus. I guess you mean
messages like 'we entered geographical zone x' or 'user x is now near us'
Or a signal for the service 'scan for xxx'
But i think this is already what you meant. s/IPC/messaging/ ;-)
